Lipstick review: Colour Pop "Bull Chic"

Anna-le16 and I did an order from Colour Pop, not so long ago. Anna had apparently been wanting to buy some lipstick and lip liner from Colour Pop. Though the unfortunate thing for her was that shipping to Australia would have be more than the prices of the product(s) itself. I decided I wanted to buy some lipstick from them as well and to help subsidized the shipping cost for Anna. Also due the fact that our currency is not particularly good as of late.

Since I have been looking for a Black lip stick colour that wasn't cheaply made and have and funny texture or smell. Or that it was cheap to buy from and good brand from overseas but shipping would cost more than the item itself. Plus good make up here in Australia pretty much cost an arm and a leg just for one item or two.

Ordering and shipment timeline

We ordered on the 18th Feburary
Took about a week for processing and was shipped on the 26th Feburary
Arrived on the 3rd March
I picked up my lippies from Anna on the 6th March
Overall time was just about over two weeks.

Cost

$20.00 USD + Shipping $16.19 USD
Total: $36.19 USD
which equates to $47.39 AUD
for our total order together
My share was $18.09 USD (23.69 AUD)

Which is quite a reasonable price due to exchange rate.

Lip Liner

black tends to be had to photograph without trying to look any of it's actual colour but also trying to capture details as well. even when under good lighting or so.

The lip liner runs quite smooth against my lips, even with slightly dried lips. So it's doesn't clump up or up rigged. The colour itself when applied off as a "greyer" tone as some people has pointed out, though it more charcoal in colour because there is no such thing as a pure black, which generally black either tends to come off as a deep brown or gray colour.

 Lip Stick

The lip stick, run quite smooth over my lips when applies. Very smooth and creamy with candy like perfume smell, which I can't put my finger on what the actual candy is. Generally a good lip stick, when it's applied you really only need to do one application. With this particular colour, yes it does come of "Charcoal" (or gray) but if you apply once more you will get the darker blend.

Application on skin & lips

So I have rather tan colour skin so it's a lot different to some of the stocks/ and models that were being used to advertise the colour. In which they really don't show a lot of in between colours only lightest to darkest tone on how the colour would look against those kind of tones. Which made it hard to decided what colours were right for me without being able to test some small swatches on my hand.

So I did some small test swatches using only one application layer, which it does come off more charcoal than "pure" black.

I did however put on ligher foundation to give myself a "gothic" look.  This is how it looks like in warmer lighting. it has a matte sheen and it is quite a nice black colour.

This is how it looks like ins cooler lighting setting. somewhat a little more the gray spectrum.

I didn't take any over time wear of the lippies itself. Though what I like about it that is stays on for quite a while. There was no peeling of the skin on my lips, when I drank from cups did not stain too much like most lip stick that I have unless it has one of those sealing feature/ primers. It did not fade as much while when drink a beverage. It also washes off pretty well and clean and does not stain the lips or leave a weird pink residue. You don't have to force scrub your lips to clean it unlike some other lip sticks I've used.

 Price: 5/5
Quality: 4.5/5
Colour: 4/5
Smoothness: 5/5
Wear: 4.5
 Overall rating: 4.5

I would definitely buy from Colour Pop again for quite affordable Lip stick and lip liner for a budget.

Thanks for coming by!

Also Bull Chic is some what a run on words  for *Cough* "Bull shit" *Cough*
